Save the date – internationales Treffen mit viel Spaß und Zeit füreinander, aber auch Austausch von Wissen über Gesundheit/Altern/Hilfsmittel aller Länder
schon seit Jahren versuchen wir eine Unterkunft zu finden, die gut gelegen und zugleich mehr als 250 Contergangeschädigte Menschen auch mit einem Rollstuhl und Ihre Angehörigen und/oder Assistenz adäquat unterbringen kann.
Und fast hätten wir aufgegeben, denn es ist nicht leicht, etwas Geeignetes zu finden.
Aber jetzt hat es geklappt!
Es ist nicht so warm wie in Teneriffa, nicht ganz so weit ab vom Schuss wie Båstad in Schweden, und wir haben in dem Land schon tolle Erfahrungen gemacht mit internationalen Begegnungen!
Der Kreis schließt sich – für all’ diejenigen, welche in Nijmegen, Niederlanden, damals 1992 dabei waren!!!
Und wir werden versuchen, in allen Ländern die Contergangeschädigten in der Welt zu erreichen, ob in Brasilien, Australien, sogar in den USA, Europa, Canada….. überall!
Noch einmal zusammenkommen in dieser Form!
Wir treffen uns Ende Oktober 2026 in Egmond aan zee, in den Niederlanden!
Der Interessenverband Contergangeschädigter NRW e.V. plant dort einen Gesundheitskongress mit vielen Freizeitaktivitäten und Begegnungsmöglichkeiten in 2026!!!
Gerne möchten wir diesen Austausch auf internationaler Ebene ermöglichen und werden daher alle Länder, die Contergangeschädigten Menschen dort, deren Vertreter, deren Stiftungen und deren versierte Gesundheitsberufler dazu einladen, mit uns gemeinsam sich auszutauschen.
Wir wollen aber auch das Leben feiern, alles, was wir in den dazwischenliegenden Jahren und Jahrzehnten in den verschiedenen Ländern erreicht haben und natürlich auch derer gedenken, die nicht mehr mit uns sein können.
Und da gibt es wirklich viel zu feiern, denn in den unterschiedlichsten Ländern wie Brasilien, Kanada, Schweden, Italien, Niederlande, Irland, Spanien, Deutschland, Österreich, Australien, und in vielen anderen Nationen haben wir als Betroffene es in den letzten 20 Jahren erreicht, unsere Lebensqualität signifikant zu verbessern.
Das Thema Gesundheit und der Prozess des Alterns ist ein zentrales Thema in unserem Leben und daher wollen wir dies in den Mittelpunkt des Treffens stellen. Aber natürlich wird es viel Zeit für Gespräche, Freizeitgestaltung etc geben. Wir gehen jetzt in die Planung!
Damit der internationale Austausch auch möglich ist, haben wir uns für eine Stadt entschieden, die von allen Seiten gut mit dem Flugzeug, aber auch mit dem Auto und dem Zug erreichbar ist.
Wir werden uns in Egmond aan zee, in der Nähe von Amsterdam, in einem großen Tagungshotel, dass weitgehend barrierefrei ist, treffen.
Geplant ist ein Austausch innerhalb einer ganzen Woche, wovon circa zwei Tage dem Thema Gesundheit gewidmet werden und mit Simultanübersetzung, auch in Deutsch, und Gebärdensprachübersetzung zugänglich gemacht wird.
Der geplante Termin ist:

Selbstverständlich kann man auch vorher oder auch später an- und abreisen.

Dies ist nur eine Ankündigung, damit Ihr den Termin reservieren und planen könnt!
Wir freuen uns riesig auf die Begegnungen und die vielen gemeinsamen schönen Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen, die wir dort miteinander machen können.

Save the date – international meeting with lots of fun and time for each other, but also exchange of knowledge about health/aging/assistive devices from all countries – October 2026
For years, we’ve been trying to find accommodation that’s well-located and can adequately accommodate more than 250 thalidomide survivors, including those with wheelchairs, along with their families and/or assistants.
And we almost gave up, because it’s not easy to find something suitable.
But now we’ve made it!
It’s not as warm as Tenerife, not quite as remote as Båstad in Sweden, and we’ve already had great experiences with international encounters in that country!
The circle is complete – for all those who were there in Nijmegen, Netherlands, back in 1992!!!
And we will try to reach thalidomide survivors in every country around the world, whether in Brazil, Australia, even the USA, Europe, Canada… everywhere!
Come together again in this form!
We’ll meet at the end of October 2026 in Egmond aan Zee, Netherlands!
We would like to facilitate this exchange at an international level and will therefore invite all countries, the people affected by thalidomide there, their representatives, their foundations, and their experienced healthcare professionals to join us in exchanging ideas.
But we also want to celebrate life, everything we have achieved in the intervening years and decades in various countries, and of course also remember those who can no longer be with us.
And there is truly much to celebrate, because in a wide variety of countries such as Brazil, Canada, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Austria, Australia, and many other nations, we have achieved a significant improvement in our quality of life over the past 20 years.
The topic of health and the aging process is a central theme in our lives, and therefore we want to focus on those important topics. But of course, there will be plenty of time for discussions, leisure activities, etc. We are now starting the planning phase!
To ensure international exchange is possible, we have chosen a city that is easily accessible from all directions, not only by plane, but also by car and train.
We will meet in Egmond aan Zee, near Amsterdam, in a conference hotel that is largely barrier-free.
The exchange is planned for a full week, with approximately two days dedicated to the topic of health and will be accessible with simultaneous translation, including into English and possibly Spanish, and sign language interpretation.
The planned date is:
October 26–November 1, 2026
Of course, you can arrive and depart earlier or later.

This is just an announcement so you can reserve and plan your dates next year!
We are really looking forward to the encounters and the many wonderful shared experiences we can enjoy there.

Reserve a data – encontro internacional com muita diversão e tempo para todos, mas também troca de conhecimento sobre saúde/envelhecimento/
Há anos, tentamos encontrar acomodações bem localizadas e que possam acomodar adequadamente mais de 250 sobreviventes da talidomida, incluindo aqueles em cadeiras de rodas, juntamente com suas famílias e/ou assistentes.
E quase desistimos, porque não é fácil encontrar algo adequado.
Mas agora conseguimos!
Não é tão quente quanto Tenerife, nem tão remoto quanto Båstad, na Suécia, e já tivemos ótimas experiências com encontros internacionais naquele país!
O círculo está completo – para todos aqueles que estiveram lá em Nijmegen, Holanda, em 1992!!!
E tentaremos alcançar sobreviventes da talidomida em todos os países do mundo, seja no Brasil, na Austrália, até mesmo nos EUA, Europa, Canadá… em todos os lugares!
Reunimo-nos novamente desta forma!

O grupo de interesse para vítimas de Contergan na Renânia do Norte-Vestfália está planejando um congresso de saúde com muitas atividades de lazer e oportunidades para reuniões em 2026!!!
Gostaríamos de facilitar esse intercâmbio em nível internacional e, portanto, convidaremos todos os países, as pessoas afetadas pela talidomida, seus representantes, suas fundações e seus experientes profissionais de saúde a se juntarem a nós na troca de ideias.
Mas também queremos celebrar a vida, tudo o que conquistamos nos últimos anos e décadas nos diversos países e, claro, também lembrar aqueles que não podem mais estar conosco.
E há realmente muito o que comemorar, porque em uma ampla variedade de países, como Brasil, Canadá, Suécia, Itália, Holanda, Irlanda, Espanha, Alemanha, Áustria, Austrália e muitas outras nações, nós, como pessoas afetadas, alcançamos uma melhora significativa em nossa qualidade de vida nos últimos 20 anos.
O tema da saúde e do processo de envelhecimento é um tema central em nossas vidas e, portanto, queremos torná-lo o foco do encontro. Mas, é claro, haverá bastante tempo para discussões, atividades de lazer, etc. Estamos agora iniciando a fase de planejamento!
Para garantir que o intercâmbio internacional seja possível, escolhemos uma cidade de fácil acesso de todas as direções, não apenas de avião, mas também de carro e trem.
Nos encontraremos em Egmond aan Zee, perto de Amsterdã, em um hotel para conferências praticamente acessível.
O intercâmbio está planejado para uma semana inteira, com aproximadamente dois dias dedicados ao tema da saúde, e será acessível com tradução simultânea, inclusive para inglês e possivelmente espanhol, e interpretação em língua de sinais.
