SUMMARY:Internationales Treffen in den Niederlanden
DESCRIPTION:Save the date – internationales Treffen mit viel Spaß und Zeit füreinander\, aber auch Austausch von Wissen über Gesundheit/Altern/Hilfsmittel aller Länder\nschon seit Jahren versuchen wir eine Unterkunft zu finden\, die gut gelegen und zugleich mehr als 250 Contergangeschädigte Menschen auch mit einem Rollstuhl und Ihre Angehörigen und/oder Assistenz adäquat unterbringen kann.  \nUnd fast hätten wir aufgegeben\, denn es ist nicht leicht\, etwas Geeignetes zu finden.\nAber jetzt hat es geklappt!  \nEs ist nicht so warm wie in Teneriffa\, nicht ganz so weit ab vom Schuss wie Båstad in Schweden\, und wir haben in dem Land schon tolle Erfahrungen gemacht mit internationalen Begegnungen!\nDer Kreis schließt sich – für all’ diejenigen\, welche in Nijmegen\, Niederlanden\,  damals 1992 dabei waren!!!\nUnd wir werden versuchen\, in allen Ländern die Contergangeschädigten in der Welt zu erreichen\, ob in Brasilien\, Australien\, sogar in den USA\, Europa\, Canada….. überall!\nNoch einmal zusammenkommen in dieser Form!   \nWir treffen uns Ende Oktober 2026 in Egmond aan zee\, in den Niederlanden! \nDer Interessenverband Contergangeschädigter NRW e.V. plant dort einen Gesundheitskongress mit vielen Freizeitaktivitäten und Begegnungsmöglichkeiten in 2026!!! \nGerne möchten wir diesen Austausch auf internationaler Ebene ermöglichen und werden daher alle Länder\, die Contergangeschädigten Menschen dort\, deren Vertreter\, deren Stiftungen und deren versierte Gesundheitsberufler dazu einladen\, mit uns gemeinsam sich auszutauschen.\nWir wollen aber auch das Leben feiern\, alles\, was wir in den dazwischenliegenden Jahren und Jahrzehnten in den verschiedenen Ländern erreicht haben und natürlich auch derer gedenken\, die nicht mehr mit uns sein können.\nUnd da gibt es wirklich viel zu feiern\, denn in den unterschiedlichsten Ländern wie Brasilien\, Kanada\, Schweden\, Italien\, Niederlande\, Irland\, Spanien\, Deutschland\, Österreich\, Australien\, und in vielen anderen Nationen haben wir als Betroffene es in den letzten 20 Jahren erreicht\, unsere Lebensqualität signifikant zu verbessern.\nDas Thema Gesundheit und der Prozess des Alterns ist ein zentrales Thema in unserem Leben und daher wollen wir dies in den Mittelpunkt des Treffens stellen. Aber natürlich wird es viel Zeit für Gespräche\, Freizeitgestaltung etc geben. Wir gehen jetzt in die Planung!  \nDamit der internationale Austausch auch möglich ist\, haben wir uns für eine Stadt entschieden\, die von allen Seiten gut mit dem Flugzeug\, aber auch mit dem Auto und dem Zug erreichbar ist. \nWir werden uns  in Egmond aan zee\, in der Nähe von Amsterdam\, in einem großen Tagungshotel\, dass weitgehend barrierefrei ist\, treffen.  \nGeplant ist ein Austausch innerhalb einer ganzen Woche\, wovon circa zwei Tage dem Thema Gesundheit gewidmet werden und mit Simultanübersetzung\, auch in Deutsch\, und Gebärdensprachübersetzung zugänglich gemacht wird. \nDer geplante Termin ist:\n26.10.-01.11.2026 \nSelbstverständlich kann man auch vorher oder auch später an- und abreisen. \nAlle Details hierzu folgen später. \nDies ist nur eine Ankündigung\, damit Ihr den Termin reservieren und planen könnt!  \nWir freuen uns riesig auf die Begegnungen und die vielen gemeinsamen schönen Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen\, die wir dort miteinander machen können.  \nSonnige Grüße aus Köln \nUdo Herterich  \nSave the date – international meeting with lots of fun and time for each other\, but also exchange of knowledge about health/aging/assistive devices from all countries – October 2026 \nFor years\, we’ve been trying to find accommodation that’s well-located and can adequately accommodate more than 250 thalidomide survivors\, including those with wheelchairs\, along with their families and/or assistants. \nAnd we almost gave up\, because it’s not easy to find something suitable.\nBut now we’ve made it! \nIt’s not as warm as Tenerife\, not quite as remote as Båstad in Sweden\, and we’ve already had great experiences with international encounters in that country! \nThe circle is complete – for all those who were there in Nijmegen\, Netherlands\, back in 1992!!! \nAnd we will try to reach thalidomide survivors in every country around the world\, whether in Brazil\, Australia\, even the USA\, Europe\, Canada… everywhere! \nCome together again in this form! \nWe’ll meet at the end of October 2026 in Egmond aan Zee\, Netherlands! \nWe would like to facilitate this exchange at an international level and will therefore invite all countries\, the people affected by thalidomide there\, their representatives\, their foundations\, and their experienced healthcare professionals to join us in exchanging ideas.\nBut we also want to celebrate life\, everything we have achieved in the intervening years and decades in various countries\, and of course also remember those who can no longer be with us.\nAnd there is truly much to celebrate\, because in a wide variety of countries such as Brazil\, Canada\, Sweden\, Italy\, the Netherlands\, Ireland\, Spain\, Germany\, Austria\, Australia\, and many other nations\, we have achieved a significant improvement in our quality of life over the past 20 years.\nThe topic of health and the aging process is a central theme in our lives\, and therefore we want to focus on those important topics.
